KYMA TV VISITS THE YUMA PUMP HOUSE TO FIND OUT FOR THEM SELVES IF ITS HAUNTED OR NOT

On October 31, 2002 Veronica DeLeCruis and her team came out to the Historic Yuma Pump house to prove for them selves if it is haunted or not.

Joined by the Lady of the House Joanne Ellis, The Yuma Spirit Hunters/ Paranormal Research Team Don Swain and Susie Ryschon They Began Their Journey Into The Heart Of The House.

Legend Of The Yuma Pump House As Submitted to Yuma Spirit Hunters.com

As a young girl, my parents had signed me up to join The CampfireGirls...they thought I was in need of friends, pride and all those otherlittle things that make up a young girls spirit. Yup. We, The Campfire Girls, were always doing over_nights at different peoples' homes and wewould occasionaly stay the weekend at The Sheriff's Posse, which just happend to be a hop, skip and a jump from the old Pumphouse Restaurant.

On the weekends that were spent there, us girls would be doing little crafts during the day, taking little nature hikes or doing something else that would be 'badge' related. But, at night we would spend it in the Sheriff's Posse meeting hall thing. At night, often sugar induced, we would hear all sorts of noises...coyotes howling and yippin' and yelpin', owls screetching, the horses settling in for the night...and we would hear the big pump kick in over at the Pumphouse. It was always so loud and it scared us for some reason...it had a terrible screaming engine.

Well, as little do, we started scaring each other. Out of our sleeping bags, we went and gathered around one of the Leaders, who told us a little story of the Pumphouse Restaurant. Supposably, it goes like this.

When the Pumphouse was being built, there was a construction worker who was taking a break and was leaning against the end of this big pipe...it was big enough for a grown man to stand inside, as long as he was hunched over. The end where he had chosen to stand had just been cut off so they could hook up an elbow part, so the edge was very sharp...razor sharp.

Somebody had yelled his name, which startled him, and as he turned around he lost his footing and had slipped. Like I mentioned, the edge was very sharp and when he slipped...his head had been sliced off when he had hit the edge of the pipe. And, because the pipe was at an elevated angle, his head rolled right in. One of the worker's co_workers had come over to where he had been and saw his headless body laying there. The guy freaked and started screaming for help. His supervisor ran over to where he was and instantly barked out the order to turn the water on to full force so that the head would be forced out. They turned the water on and it shot out of the end of the pipe...but there was no head, just the body laying underneath the opening of the pipe. After that incident, they pulled out all of the piping and still could not locate the head. Our Leader told us that the screaming noises from the pump, at the Pumphouse, was that of the decapitated contruction worker. Thinking back on it now, it seems real silly, but at that time it seemed so real.
This is obviously some sort of urban legend.

The True Story

During the construction of the pump house a construction worker slipped and fell into one of the open tubes and was sucked through the turbine and was chopped into tiny peices. Many people including the new Lady of the House have seen this man among others.

FINDINGS

The Yuma Spirit Hunters/ Paranormal Research Team found that further investigation was warrented due to the equipment problems, the high level of EMF readings and the EVP captured during the Investigation.

AS FAR AS VERONICA WITH KYMA  Here is a letter sent out by her on Halloween. You be the judge.

I went to shoot a REAL haunted house today. It was really freaky. One of
the gates started moving on it's own - swinging back and forth ... it was
inexplicable.....I felt this immense pressure on my chest the entire time I
was down there, like I couldn't breath. The history behind the house is it
was a water plant back in the 1920's and a worker fell inside one of the
tubes, was decapitated and chopped into millions of tiny little pieces. His
spirit haunts the tunnels below the house. We went with a couple of
paranormal researchers ....their dousing rods kept pointing inwards,
following the spirit around. They sent me these pictures, below ... all
those tiny circles are orbs ... or ghosts. Pretty spooky huh?
